Low cost flights to
Turin from easyJet
easyJet is one of the major
providers of low cost flights to Turin, as well as many other cities
across Europe.
Flying to Turin from Luton once per day, the airline also
offers three daily flights to Milan's airports, a relatively short distance
from Turin by train.
EasyJet was set up by the serial entrepeneur known simply
as Stelios. Although he is no longer involved in actively running the
business, he remains firmly associated with easyJet in the public's perception.
Stelios claims to have had the idea for easyJet when using
a no-frills airline in the USA. He took the same basic model of offering
an extremely basic service in order to slash the seat prices available
to travellers - low cost flights to Turin being just one example of the
many destinations now served.
Offering sales over the telephone at first and later from
the easyJet
website, the company was able to cut out travel agents completely,
further reducing costs.
With no allocated seating, it is usually advisable to
board from the back of the aircraft if that option is possible - most
people board from the front and slow down the queue as they find a seat,
while fewer people board at the back allowing you to find good seats
more easily.
The other good tip that applies to all budget airlines
is to book as far in advance as you can. This always will save you money,
and if you are looking for a flight within a week of the booking date,
you should check the regular airlines too - they are often cheaper.
Getting from Milan to Turin
Turin is just short of two hours from Milan on the high-quality
Italian rail service.
From Milan airport you can take the bus to Milan station
(this is worth visiting in its own right - a splendidly Imperial monument),
with regular trains to Turin station.
